In thirty years of woodworking I have come to appreciate what it takes to make a piece of furniture that will last for generations. My passion lies in the designs of Arts and Crafts or Mission furniture because it stresses function and unadorned beauty, strong simple construction and honest comfortable design.

I build furniture in the Arts and Crafts and Prairie Styles, drawing on the work of Gustav Stickley, Frank Lloyd Wright, George Mann Niedecken, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I work almost exclusively in quarter-sawn white oak, a favorite of furniture makers in the Arts and Crafts period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

I'm always drawn to the Arts & Crafts style and try, if possible, to incorporate elements of its many facets in my work. I strive for simple yet refined designs that fit the clients lifestyle and taste. Any artistic license comes after the function of a piece has been determined, which I believe is the very heart of the Arts & Crafts movement.
